HOT PICK: Femme Fatale

Femme Fatale by Sloane Peterson

Flint Beck is a down-on-his-luck PI who has a chip on his shoulder. A disgraced cop, he’s trying to serve justice in an unjustified world, but it’s hard when no clients come to his office.

The city is suffering a heatwave and things are only going to get hotter for Flint when a beautiful actress called Evelyn Thatcher comes to call, offering a big payday if he’ll prove that her deceased husband’s family are stopping her from receiving the money he left her in his will. It seems too good to be true at first, and is proven when Flint becomes tangled in the sordid web woven by a woman who is best known for playing femme fatales.

But can Flint trust her? And can he resist the spell she weaves on every man she encounters?

While juggling this, he also has to explain to his son why he got kicked off the police force and figure out how to deal with the simmering attraction between him and his long-suffering assistant Marie.
